Hi Guys,
So it's my first post, and guess what? YEP, Twintake talk...
By the looks of it twintake's are talked about a lot...
And I've litterally just sat down after fitting mine to my 2006 gti and can't believe how loud it is inside the car!! It sounds like someone turns a Hoover on every time you touch the throttle, at first I thought I hadn't connected it to the turbo properly (after I checked) I'm certain I have ;-)
Can anyone back me up and agree? Other than the noise level inside the car it sounds really good and has made a noticeable difference to the car wich is otherwise completely standard.
Cheers

yes it is bit noisy inside due to the alloy pipes

Hey , i have a forge twin take and same thing , ive taken mine off and up for sale , im going to try a single filter REVO or IGT or something ..... the Twin Take is great if you like that kind of thing , just like a dump valve lol
-
IMHO loose the Forge Twintake and replace it with a REVO or EVOMS CAI. They will ALL sound loud to a certain degree if you've never had one before but when driving around town and not on boost you'll hardly notice it and get use dot it very quicky.
:happy2:

I think ill be doing the same, i only paid £170 for it on eBay so i might pass the savings on and just swap it with someone :happy2:
-
you think a twin take is loud!
If you go down the REVO route etc, you'll soon know what loud is.
IMOH twin take's are the quieter intakes out there

I think were saying that the air tumbling around the cans at low boost is really loud. is that what you mean on the revo style intake?

revo, ITG etc are open cone so you get more whooshing as the air is dragged in - the canisters with twin take do tend to tumble the air around, but because they are enclosed it does make them quieter

Ok, Thanks mate :happy2: think i need to have a sit in another gti with a revvo style intake... see what i think.
To be fair its the bank manager that doesn't like it more than me, ill just give her some ear plugs

Awesome! that's what i was going to try! does it take the annoying rushing air noise away?

I had the full twin take on before this - decided to loose the canisters and bang on some ITG cones and I actually think its quieter then the twin take.
Ive also had a REVO which was loud IMHO, but find this hybrid a perfect solution between the two

Then i know what I'm doing... Thanks mate!
