hi all i know this is a old problem my 07 gti with 49000 miles is rotting,vw will do one but the other was sprayed before i bought if from the dealers, as you can imagine they will only do one so court it is. does anyone have the link to the "good will" repairs. i can honestly say im so dissapointed in vw for their attitude and i dont think i want to ever bother with them again!
 thanks for your advice

if the wing has been sprayed before its only fair that they reject the repair. its been messed with.

before i bought it from a dealer for 17 grand and when its a design flaw?i have owned the car 6 years and looked after it like a baby..thought as a owner you would be a as annoyed as me

Know how you feel mate, mine was rejected too as like yours been sprayed before.
But in my mind a so called quality brand like VW should not be rusting regardless .
I thought rust was a thing of the past, I had a 2006 vectra before the golf not one bit of rust anywhere!
Slightly disappointed with the mk5 build quality .. My mk4 was much better.
The mk5 seems to be a car you forgive because it drives so well .

Same here rejected because of a previous repair on all 4 corners but I have no bad feelings towards vw, mainly because the bloke I spoke to apologised profusely about the fact that he couldn't get them done under warranty but like Gmaster said it drives so well I don't mind taking care of it

That's my whole point, been fighting them for 3 months up at director level now and they are saying the same so I'm going to small claim court. A 8 year old car shouldn't be rotting away. I really love this car and feel really let down by the brand!ill let you know what happens!

It's more the fact of the foam causing it anyway and 600 quid is a bit steep!

Agreed £600 is steep and some (not all) of the people that work at VW are useless so I will always use the independent specialists I know and trust. But best of luck bud I'll be keeping an eye out on your progress

How are they to know that you haven't had a small incident that cracked the paint, it was left over winter without paint, rusting. Then a back street garage did a quick bodge paint job and its rusting again now.

I can see why they wouldn't want to pay to fix it then!

I'd be spending the £50 for the small claims court towards a new wing and getting that's fitted and saving the hassle!!!
