Title: Hose Kit and Spraying CAI/Engine Cover
Post by: irish_ram on August 22, 2015, 09:37:50 am
Just purchased and fitted my RamAir Intake which is black. As my car is Tornado Red I am looking at maybe purchasing some silicone hose kit to replace the standard ones in my engine bay. Also if I do this I would want to spray my CAI and Engine Cover so it all matches.

Would this be possible and has anyone done this. Also is there specific spray as I have some Caliper Red spray which I presume is designed to take hot temp but not sure if suitable for Engine Cover and CAI. Also other alternative may be to spray the existing hoses I have rather than buy a whole new kit

with regards to the hoses, spraying wouldnt really work as they constantly expand/shrink lightly and change temperature
heavyset.co.uk/ do very good hose kits, i have a green one fitted to my scirocco

If you end up going with a hose kit I may be interested in your standard hoses providing there in good shape?.. When I bought my car it had blue silicone hoses on and I also have a tornado red GTI and blue and red just doesn't do it for me but I don't want to spend a fortune on getting another silicone hose kit just to change the colour back to black or red..

PM me if and when you decide to purchase yourself a new set of hoses

Ah right I will have a look.

Also I think I will fork out for some engine spray for the CAI and Engine Cover as the Brake Caliper spray is not actually made to withstand very hot temps as apparently they do not get that hot as opposed to the engine bay spray which can withstand 500c
