Title: EGR Failure
Post by: vernychops on August 23, 2015, 10:49:14 pm
Hi, I have a mk5 tdi 140 BKD, I replaced the EGR valve 8 months ago and it failed 6 months later I replaced it again (europarts refunded me) and today the engine light came on again and sure enough its the same fault again, Flow Insufficient. I took the hose off the egr and i can blow and suck air straight through, so there is no vacuum in the vacuum valve. On a new functioning egr you cannot suck or blow through it.  Does anyone know what can make brand new egr's fail so soon..2 units in 8 months.  there are no other fault codes. tia

Just remove the egr altogether and get a delete kit then get it mapped out

Wouldn't the  delete kit have the same effect as the faulty egr?
