Better to get a Stage 1 tune. Totally transforms the power delivery. Then he can get it on the rollers. :driver:

No soot due to the DPF.
Just at the beginning of filter regeneration cycles.

Car is a Seat Leon FR. 184ps DSG
£30 a yr tax, £270 fully comp, 50+mpg.
A stage 1 map gives 220-230bhp and 360-370lbft.
Alcantara heated sport seats, Satnav, 18" alloys. Not a bad daily really. :happy2:

Is this a Hurdy way of having a mid-life crisis? F**k the rules, once again? :happy2:

LOL, you could be right, but you have to remember that I have had 4 brand new diesels in the past. :happy2:
I was surprised that a stock one of these does 0-60 in under seven and a half seconds.....still four and a half slower than my old R though!!!!
-
4.5 seconds = A lifetime in racing terms. Still, it must return about 4.5 times the economy of the Golf R, even when doing the 7 seconds push to 60...
-
If I could. I would ban you. But I can't. :signLOL:
-
Can we just collectively decide to shun him until he has another interesting car to show us? Until i see a sub 12 second 1/4 mile print out I'm not interested

AWD conversion :signLOL:

I'm quite interested in any 230bhp 370lb/ft 50mpg car.
Until the S4 build begins of course..

The R actually wasn't too bad on a run. 30-35mpg. Around town though it was closer to 15-17mpg. On a spirited run it would be 5-7mpg!
It did a million smiles per gallon though. :driver:

That's a little encouraging, as I'm hoping to also use the GTX3071R turbo similar to you, although some of my spec will differ from yours and I won't be pushing the same power. Well, not straight away at least...
-
Good lad. Welcome to my world.

I CAN
. . . But I like having Hurdy around, even if he has gone back to the black pump (for now )

I had a new leon tdi 150bhp for a few weeks when I had an accident a few months ago. I have to say, that is an absolutely stunning car! I have always raved about golfs ever since I got a mk5 when they were released, but this is the first car thats blown me away like that since (I've had an A7, New C class, new A6 currently, Mk6 golf since then too).
I told my mum to get one as she was looking for a new car. She called me up a few days later and told me she said it was good advice to look at Seat and bought a bloody Toledo XL crap thing!! First time I called her an idiot.

The Leon arrived Thursday morning, got mapped Thursday afternoon. Obviously it isn't in the same league as the Golf R, but I am surprised at just how nimble it is. The Leon is a lot lighter than the R and without the driver it comes in at just over 1300kg with 5drs and DSG and a near empty fuel tank. The handling as stock is more feel some than my R was even with all the suspension mods it had done. You really can feel that the stiffer MQB platform and the multi-link suspension are doing their job. The stock brakes will need addressing on the Leon though as they are basically a MKV GTI set-up. Lighter alloys wouldn't go amiss either.
I reckon 0-60 is around 6.5 seconds now. I will have to do some testing. :happy2:
Even with my style of driving the Leon is averaging late 40mpg and it hasn't even been on a motorway yet!
The wife loves it, which is the important thing.

Nice..when you gettin the s4?
