Title: Forge PCV Valve
Post by: Isaac McElroy on August 28, 2015, 08:12:37 pm
Hi all, I've suspect My pcv valve has gone on me. Car is suffering from all the major symptoms.

I see on gumtree a forge PCV valve for sale only a couple of miles from where I live. What i want to know is, any body running one, what's their opinion on it and is £50 reasonable.

My knowledge is somewhat limited so any advice or guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks..

Haven't used the Forge, only the BSH, PCV delete plate. They work fine and helpful if experiencing PCV failure.
With that said...the OEM PCV is preferred for the motor. I just removed my PCV delete plate and reinstalled my OEM PCV because it had became suspect for the destruction of my valve cover.

I would suggest continue using the OEM PCV unless you have repeated PCV failure occurring less than every 80k miles.

Again, OE PCV latest revision is the best option, but if you want to go all out then a decent catch can may be the way ahead.

Thanks, so the Forge delete is really a unnecessary expensive if the pcv valve failure is not a reoccurring problem?

I'll just stick to the OEM part then. Thanks mate

Correct...keep running the OEM bit unless PCV fails often.
