Wonder if anyone can help. After driving the car for a while if I stop with the engine running I hear the sound in the video a few times. Not sure what this is and if it is normal or not.
I have scanned the car and the only thing that comes up is the an Issue with is
08-Auto HVAC -- Status: Malfunction 0010

I could take offense to that second comment :surprised: but I won't
Iy honestly sounds like a mouse tapping away between the dash and engine bay, it drives me crazy

Are you heaters on when it's happening

I have had the exact same thing happen... I never put a video up though but some replies mentioned the fuel line tapping away... It really does sound like it's within reach when driving. I am sure I read somewhere it could be the motor for the air con or something....
Oddly it has stopped happening for me recently after doing it for a year or so.. Only thing had changed is the steering rack so I am not sure if something getting fixed with that might have sorted the noise.. Could be something loose maybe.
It is irritating though

Likely so most time as it is when I have been driving somewhere and then stopping on the way and in this country most likely I have the heat on.
I might try driving tomorrow for a few minutes with all the heating off and then see.
Probably not linked but I sometimes have another noise when starting the car, it is like a grinding noise for a couple of seconds and then never hear it again until I next start the car.

Yeah it sounds as though it is coming from the passenger side of the car and in the dash somewhere or at the very top of the engine bay on that side. Probably need to get out of the car and see if I can locate it in the engine bay etc
