I am currently very VERY close to buying a RNS510 from eBay (UK seller). The seller states:
VOLKSWAGEN RNS-510 GPS NAVIGATION SYSTEM VERSION R LED
Part number: 1T0 035 680 R (VIDEO IN MOTION ENABLED WILL PLAY DVDS THEN DRIVING)
HW27 SW6270
Amongst the specs she has written "30 GB Hard drive" which when i emailed her she clarified is a 30GB SSD drive.
Tried searching "30GB SSD" in this forum but cannot find anyone with a RNS510 which has 30GB SSD.
Am i right in thinking that it should be either 40GB HD or a 40GB SSD, NOT a 30GB SSD? or is this some modified version and i should just steer clear?
Please help!

It should be 40, but If am right, rns reserves 10gb for the maps.

That information is probably as old as the first RNS-510 that only had 30 Gb.
This is an old discussion but people keep asking about it...
Here's good info: http://www.my-gti.com/3983/volkswagen-rns-510-hardware-and-software-firmware-versions (http://www.my-gti.com/3983/volkswagen-rns-510-hardware-and-software-firmware-versions)
What's the point of upgrading an hardware speed and downgrade its capacity when newer maps need a different partition setup to fit in older HDD with 30 Gb? :stupid:

The RNS-510 have 40 Gb of storage capacity since their version C. The latest version have SSD instead of HDD.
