Recently, when I change gear with half throttle (not thrashing it) the DV(?) seems to be making a 'chewww' type of noise. I mentioned this to the specialist that I use, who did a diagnostic check and there was no fault found. Also if i accelerate in 3rd from 2-3000 light/mid throttle and don't change gear i also hear this noise. Is this a sign that my DV or something connected is on its last legs?
the GTi is due for it 80k service in about 400miles (according to the dash warning) so i will mention it to them again.
I will post some pictures on my GTi now the Bilstein B12 Pro kit has now settled at some point over the weekend. :happy2:

Could be the way you are coming on/off the throttle causing the DV not to open since its operation is controlled by the ecu... A video would help!
