Love my GTI but it's been a garage queen / ornament for years. I was going to keep it forever and have a lovely classic one day. Having company cars now it makes no real sense to keep taxing / servicing and washing dust off it so I've finally come round to parting company. Almost drawn to tears! Lol
I've not been as active on here in recent times but have dipped in to see what is going on. It's a forum I've spent many happy times on. I've even met one or two of you at meets is years gone by. I wish you all happy & safe motoring. :happy2:
Now for the shameless plug....it's listed in the For Sale section if anyone wants a genuine minter.

Looks a gem, there can't be many with that mileage and condition... Guess you avoided the inevitable rust too :happy2:
I'm sure that'll be a heavy heart when it drives off, looking from behind the glass!

Don't do it! Everyone deserves one treat
I'm in a similar position, my golf has been out twice in five months since I started cycling to work and is sitting just over 30k miles. Keeping it makes no sense but it's mine and it's not going anywhere. I think it runs in my family as my dad has a Mercedes SL that hardly sees the light of day. We both share a ford people carrier as a daily driver. :driver:

Dont sell it... keep it.

Cheers guys. Thing is, I also have a classic Land Rover which I've fully restored over the past 4 years. This hardly gets used either because I have a company car too for everyday use. I very nearly sold it in the Spring but hung on a bit longer. I am genuinely really gutted but must be sensible. I end up having to shuffle cars around just to get it out of the garage. I only drive it to keep things turning over and in good working order. It's a brilliant car which needs to be driven and enjoyed.

Noooo keep it

Sell the Landy the big uncomfortable, leaky, noisy pile of crap. :signLOL:
If u miss it when you sell the Landy I have a tin shed you can sit in if you like. :signLOL:
But there good of road, so's a horse. :signLOL:

Wow, that's got to be the most immaculate, low mileage example of mk5 gti out there. If I had it, no way would I depart, it's particularly new!

The Land Rover values are going north already, have been for some time and is stronger investment right now. If this were an Ed30/Pirelli/Farenheit the value would climb sooner. This will require a few more years yet to appreciate in a meaningful way, but it could remain static.
Are the tyres original? Unless it's going into a collection they'll need changing. 9 year old tyres cannot be relied upon.
Can't take anything away from it though, very rare car. Can't help feeling that you need to find a collector/dealer/specialist to sell to maybe. Maybe even a museum or motoring heritage centre. :congrats:

Not that mines advertised at the minute but if I could sell mine I would have this.
