Ahh.... you need @dazza (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=10457) to take you thru it.
You've unfortunately got the hard line version which makes it a cock to do this job.

I would have just let Vw do it on Thursday if I new :/ just as well keep trying now though. Thanks mate

You need to undo it from the bottom. It's a hex bolt not sure what size.
-
Have you got the correct tool to remove the banjo bolt? It's a m8 spline.
-
Use this mate..

Thanks Tim! I gave up in the end because i didn't have the right Spline bit. its going in to be checked by VW on Thursday so i think ill get them to do it, which is frustrating!! such an easy job to do

halfords sell the tool is that makes any difference?

Do Halfords sell an m8 spline?
I ordered mine off amazon it was a tenner I think, got a whole set with loads of pieces. It was a sealey set I think.
Also, a mini ratchet attactchment really helps.

My mate works there and ischecking how noisy the engine is w hen warm, so might see how much it is for them to do. if its a ridicules amount ill go and get the m8 bit.
