Title: My driver side mirror

Hi all,

I have not long got my MK5 GTI, the mirrors on it have the indicators but i dont think they have the puddle lights? was this an option that I dont have?

I have also noticed that the mirror moves fine with the switch to adjust the angle of the glass, but the indicator does not work on the driver side, and i have also noticed that when I put the switch to the heated bit, the passenger one clears of condensation in minutes where as the driver side does not... so am i right in thinking that this indicator and no heat problem may be linked and the wires might have a problem?

Puddle lights was an option along with power folding function. If the indicator light doesnt work it could simply need replacing, the two problems together does suggest either a wiring or control module issue. Take the mirror glass off and check the two heating wires are connected to the back of the unit.
