Well, I went ahead and bought the Leon FR 184 DSG. Apollo blue, 5dr.

Arrived Thursday morning and mapped Thursday afternoon.
So, after putting REVO stage 1 on my Leon FR184 DSG 5dr I decided to do some 0-60mph testing. The photos below show 3 pulls on the flat and one downhill run for comparison. The last photo shows the average of the three flat runs with the horsepower calculation at the wheels. The runs were timed using the Dynolicious App on my IPhone 6+, which has proved quite accurate when compared to my old VBox in the past. The wheel horsepower I recorded is also very close to the wheel horsepower that REVO quote for their stage 1 too. :happy2:

Great work, bet you're struggling to handle all that torque...

No torque steer, but plenty of Wheelspin and axle tramp if I get too aggressive. I reckon there is a 6.1 in there with a good launch. Not too worried as it is just the daily, but I may well see what it does down at Santa Pod for a laugh. :happy2: :driver:
-
6.1 seconds 0-62mph was about what the Golf R took to reach 100mph, right? Still, as daily drivers go, it's got more bhp and torque than a stock mk5 GTI!

5.4 secs to 60mph with the Revo stage 1 map @ 210hp? Seems bloody impressive to me Jon @Hurdy (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=53) :happy2:
I'm running the same power give or take Stage 2 Revo generic map on my CR170 and I won't really get close to 6 seconds with the 6MT launch control mashing the clutch :rolleye:
DTUK on the same engine and same range of cars claim 240ps (  ) and their own YouTube videos show their 184 TDI DSG Octavia doing around 6.4secs to 60mph. I think this tells it's own story really.

I think the 5.4 was downhill if I've read things right.
6.3 sounds more like it.

The R was late 6's to 100mph. Yes, it does have more bhp and torque than a mk5 and a mk6 GTI......even the mk6 "performance" GTI.

Yes, 5.4 was downhill as a comparison just to make sure there was a difference between flat and downhill. :happy2:
Also the 211 was calculated as wheel horsepower and not brake horsepower.
211whp calculates as over 231bhp, which in turn is over 234ps.

Pretty impressive for a stage 1 diesel.
I remember the big thing over whether an ARL could be pushed over 200bhp! We've got it good these days.
Can't see this staying stock for long though, as Darkside came up in the other thread...?

You should do a drag race with a GTI Performance (mk7).
And a stock Edition 30 too.

Yes, I have seen that mod on SCN. I'd most likely go for some wrap rather than paint it. :happy2:

Well the VW "Dieselgate" thing has taken off and is quickly swallowing up Audi, I'm just glad that it is still just the EA189 engine with the cheat software.

Put the R1Rs on the other day and tried a few more runs to sixty just for a laugh......
5.66 - exactly the same time to sixty that I recorded at GTI International when my ED30 was standard. :happy2:
