Hi guys!
I'm new to this!
There has probably been a million posts about this before but I thought I'd save some time trolling through it all
I'm having issues installing an aftermarket headunit into my GTI. It's a pioneer SPH-DA100.
To cut a long one I got it all wired up but it is constantly on. This wouldn't be a massive issue for me but this particular unit doesn't have an ON/OFF button, I can only turn the screen off.
Anybody able to shed some light as to how to wire it so that it'll turn on/off through the ignition
Cheers

You need to wire it with your ignition and also installing a aftermarket radio will normally kill your battery on your car if you do not have the upgraded can bus.

If all else fails you could always wire it to your own switch? Take the feeding cables into a switch and wire back to he head unit from there, in theory that would enable you to kill power as and when - how compatible that would be with the golf computer or indeed your head unit leaves questions unanswered.
An example would be like an ignition switch but obviously use the stereo wiring!

This will put your radio off when you remove key also will stop battery drain.

Welcome, I used to have a Pioneer SPH-DA100 in my old Edition 30 & never came across this issue. Any luck fixing the issue yet as that would annoy the f*** outta me!
