Hey guys,
I seem to have a weird problem. When unlocking the car with the fob, all the lights flash at me/headlights turn on at night like they should. However, when LOCKING the car with the fob, NONE of the lights flash to let me know when the car is locked.
I literally have to listen out for the clicking sound (standing about 2 metres away) to know for sure my car is locked and is becoming quite annoying now.
It's a MK5 2004 1.6FSI 5Dr.
What to do? :sad1:

Has it just started happening?
If its always done it, it may have been set up like that. You can set it to not beep/ not flash when opening/closing car.
-
It's been like that in the time I've owned the car (4 months)
How do I go about setting it so the lights do come on/flash when locking?
-
I believe you can set this using VCDS
-
Right, gotta find someone in northwest/north london who has VCDS then!
Cheers for helping me out :happy2:

Yes, it is a changeable function with vcds. I have the beeping set - off, but the lights - to flash. You can turn all of it off or on. I will re-check for you to be sure it is not a function of the convenience settings through the MFD.

I've got the same problem, mine was caused though by having a Clifford Alarm fitted...
When it went wrong and I had to have it removed, the indicator lights no longer flash when locking/unlocking...
Been to the stealers I said I think it's a wiring problem they had the car for a few hours they reactivated it on the computer but it kept rejecting it. They then agreed yes it's a wiring problem then "done me over" for £100! :rolleye: :congrats: We need the car for further checks - I haven't bothered they seem pretty clueless unless it's something straight forward...

I have an app on my phone called Carista which cost £15 plus a blue tooth OBD dongle. This allows me to change the alarm settings a well as other o options such as drl, coming home lights etc as well as reading fault codes and resetting fault lights.

Thanks guys!
They somehow just started flashing a night ago when I locked the car!
It's only one flash but it's all I really needed :)
