Title: Ford Mustang Fifth Generation
Post by: lukemk5gti on September 16, 2015, 12:44:26 pm
Has anyone ever looked at the fifth generation ford mustang?

I see one close to home selling quite cheap, totally ludicrous idea but a man can always look!

Anyone own or have driven one in the past?

Never driven it but my pal had one for 6 months and it sounded absolutely amazing but as a passenger I can only compare it to his brothers 2005 Jaguar XK 4.2 V8. The power just comes in very differently to how to would imagine it to.

That's exactly what I've heard, it sounds great but no first hand experiences.

4 litre petrol only delivering 210hp doesn't seem great considering our 2L deliver 200hp!

I suppose a test drive is in order!

I hired a convertible a couple of years ago to drive around California/Las Vegas/Route 66 etc. On anything but a bone dry, billiard table smooth road the ride was awful. On some of the older, more worn sections of Route 66 the car became quite uncontrollable and on a wet road getting the power (or rather the lack of power) down was quite a tricky feat.  :scared:

All this in a new car having covered less than 3000 miles. Quite a disappointing car really.

Last year we had a brand new convertible Camaro, now that WAS rather nice!! :driver:

Is that all they make in power terms!? Wow  always knew the yanks make crap power for the size of the engine but that's just crazy.

This totaly off the top of my head but I Thought the entry level 4L made 300bhp but the newer ones were going to have the Ford 2.3 which made 200ish horse...

I wanted to rent one next time were out in Florida, Hertz performance line... Its definitely a more worthy version you can rent though, iirc around 400 brake, which ever version that this... Hopefully with some handling upgrades!? :happy2:

Latest gen UK mustang gets the 2.3 ecoboost with 320bhp same as the Focus RS albeit the focus has 350bhp, so should be some room for mapping the 'Stang for rwd fun  :driver:

the previous generation mustangs before the current one are purely showy cars. thats it really.  here me roar..  look at my mane.  just dont look at my 50 year old designed suspenion or antiquated engine
