Hey everyone! thought I'd post here before I got straight into why I've joined the site.
Recently bought an 07 MK5 TDI Golf (I think that's right) and I'm over the moon with it. I've never been a car person at all, but thought I'd actually invest into something I would be happier to drive due to a new job and the ensuing mileage I'd be doing.
I'm going to upgrade my headunit and am looking into getting an RNS510, how've ever as previously mentioned I am a bit new to this sort of thing so was looking at getting some advice. Before I start a new topic in the audio section of the forum is it recommended to search?
Cheers!

Hey! Yeah searching the forum is best way to find things as most things have been covered before tbh! As for the RNS510 its easy enough to fit yourself if you have some trim removal tools (£5) off ebay. Make sure you get the radio antenna adaptor as the rns510 has a slightly different radio socket to the rcd300 ect

Hi welcome to the forum.
I think you'll be ok regarding the battery drain problem in a 2007... although it's worth checking. :happy2:

I learnt long ago that forums are one of the best sources of information. The rns510 is what i used to have in my old passat and god do i miss it!

You will need a sat nav aerial also.
I changed my base spec RCD300 to an RNS510. Didn't need to change the canbus on 57 plate.
