My car has been slowly loosing coolant since I changed the inline thermostat, I initially thought that it was leaking where I changed the spring clips for jubilee clips but they all seem fine. So I had another look and sniff round and it appears to be leaking at the coolant flange above the gearbox. Has anyone tackled this job before and knows what's involved?

Are you getting any coolant on the floor? I also think i may have a leak since changing the water pump, main stat and inline stat. Unless its just the coolant settling after the initial refill as i've not topped it up since.

No coolant on the floor, just weeping from the flange itself.
Must be someone out there that has changed one before?

I changed mine about a year ago. It wasn't too difficult, just quite time consuming. It's just a case of removing everything above it to get access. I removed the battery as well to make it easier. You must make sure that the o-ring is seated correctly inside the head when installing the new one! Mine wasn't so I had to take it all out again!
