Hi
cannot find another thread which explains what i want. I have a RNS510 with a BT module 7P6....M from @Pashka (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=5723) and highline display. This was installed in my mk5 by the very helpful Alex @olsen-72 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=4567) who also supllied & fit the highline display too. However can someone explain how i pair a phone to the rns510? Alex already paired my iPhone to it while installing it but i forgot to ask him how he did it and i am now trying to add my wifes iPhone (or any phone for that matter).
Please help!

Mate, you could ask about it on PM :signLOL: Put ignition on, put bluetooth on on iphone, look for vw phone, enter the 4 digit password, that's it. Password should be seen on white/colour highline display, or can be set via VCDS. Try 0000 or 1234.

LOL Oh yeh duh! Its monday morning and my brain isnt functioning properly :stupid:
I have tried what you said, "put bluetooth on phone" on a coupke of phones (wifes and mates) but none of them seem to find a VWPHONE option? However, when i turn my own bluetooth on, it picks it up and connects automatically? :surprised:
-
visibility mode could be turned off on the Bluetooth unit.

Using VCDS, if really your other phone doesn't find any VW phone when bluetooth is turned on.

Instead of searching for the car BT with your phone, have you tried to use the MFD menu, go to "Bluetooth" > "New User" (I think) and search for your phone from there? That is how I pair up with new phones. Of course your phone needs to be visible to other units when searching for it.

I have the red MFD as well, but you are correct that I use a FIS-LINK box (primarily because I have the 9WZ module).
