Title: Service Book full - replacement needed.
Post by: richtung on September 22, 2015, 09:28:04 pm
Evening,

The Ed30's service is one stamp away from being full. Does anyone know how much the replacement / extension booklets are from the dealership? I don't want to faff about with printing out sheet- just prefer a new book.
Just weighing up whether to go to the dealers or get one from Ebay for around £20.
Will ring dealers at some point this week but wanted to see if anyone knew from the top of their head.

Thanks

Rich

My research has shown there are 2 types of book, one is a Duplicate Service Book and the other is Replacement Service Schedule.

The duplicate literally has pages with a box for the dealer stamp and a few lines to record the other pertinent info.
The replacement schedule is similar to the service book you have in the wallet - it contains the list of specific work that the dealers tick as well as the box for the stamp. This is what i need to use as a continuation book.

These are around the £16 mark on fleabay. Im going to give TPS a call to see how much they are selling them for.

EDIT:
TPS don't supply these - main dealers only.
The third option is a like for like replacement service book - with the holes punched in to fit our wallets - these are out of print and only found on Ebay. Can go for daft money though.

Would it be possible to copy/scan an existing one, erase out any markings or stamps and then print out a new one?

Just an update:

Found a dealership that stocks the replacement service schedules. They are £13.07 inc VAT. Once i get hold of one, i will post some photos and part number on here  :happy2:

This is the replacement schedule i am referring to http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Vw-Replacement-Service-Schedule-book-all-VW-range-1984-2014-/181584991763?hash=item2a474f1613 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Vw-Replacement-Service-Schedule-book-all-VW-range-1984-2014-/181584991763?hash=item2a474f1613)
