Title: Remaps and insurance increase
Post by: ReflexRob on September 25, 2015, 05:23:04 pm
For £300 odd quid I am sorely tempted with a Revo stage 1 remap. The only thing stopping me is how much the insurance would jump up.

I'm 35, 7 years NCB on this insurance and I do 12k a year, driveway parked in low risk rural area - if anyone else is comparable to that I would appreciate your comments...

Heavily depends on the insurer mate.  If they come back with silly numbers, it might be worth changing.

I pay an extra 60 quid a year with Adrian Flux for the Stage 1 R-Tech map on my k03 GTI.

Not bad at all.

I'm 34, 9 (or could be 10) years no claims, 7000 mile annual limit, parked on the road.

When I had my Pirelli done - I was in my late 20's, full NCB, 20,000 miles per year incl business.

Stock with Elephant = £1100
Revo Stg1, Neuspeed intake, Miltek Cat-back, WALK with Greenlight = £650

Give someone like Greenlight a call. Very friendly and will happily go through details. I'm still with them after a few years of renewal quotes that no-one else could touch.
I was told they are competitive because they treat you more like an enthusiast. If you spend all day polishing it, you'll be a little more careful with it and not wrap it round a tree!
