Title: Wheel bolt Torque
Post by: Panthera on September 25, 2015, 06:26:49 pm
The plan for the weekend is remove my wheels and clean off the residue left behind from the old wheel weights. So what is the correct torque for the bolts to be tightened to?

While on the subject can anyone recommend a good cheap torque wrench? Or will a £20 eBay job be fine.

Sorry to troll your thread.

I thought it was 120nm = 88.5 ft/lbs  :scared:
+1 for the 120 NM for the wheel torque.

I agree with Dazza I've always done my wheels about 85-90lbft otherwise it's crazy tight to get off beside the road.

120Nm here as well

I have one of these from Lidl. Had it a few years now and still a great tool, can't fault it. Try finding another for only £16:

Oh yes, available from Thursday (1st-Oct) as well...

I have one of those, but the range on mine is 40-200 Nm - an older version on the one in the link.

I should of checked at work and looked in the wheel bolt/nut torque figures book thing.....

Just doing a ceramic coating all wheels off job, VW’s own data says 120 nm.

It isn't 120 lb*ft.
It is 120 Nm or 88.5 lb*ft.
