Title: Advice on Line Out Convertors...
Post by: Lovegroover on December 23, 2009, 08:57:07 am
Hey all,
Picked up my GTi - AT LAST! Thanks to the VW dealers thawing out a bit.
Got the standard RCD300 (i think) with 6 disc in the armrest which is handy, but not great.
Eventually will fit an RNS510 hopefully but for now want some more bass to help the standard set-up a bit without spending out.

Cheapest way presumabely is to fit a LOC and hook up my existing sub and amp (cheap!?).
Can anyone tell me if i fit a LOC can i splice it into my rear speakers and keep the speakers connected aswell?
Also can anyone suggest a specific LOC they seem to vary in price - alot....

IMO you'd be better just upgrading the 3-way components in the front and then to move onto the rear. The stock system is very poor. Even the Seat Leon has a better stock speaker setup.

Its pretty easy to do and will provide a decent upgrade.

I just put together a guide on how to do this with some information on different types of LOCs, I did this with my RNS-510, but the principle is the same for any VW headunit. You can find the guide here:
