Title: Fault code 01089 - re occurring!

Hello,

Had the car a few weeks and it keeps throwing the same code:

01089
Switch for tensioning strut stowed (F204) - sporadic - 002-Lower

Had a look online including ross tech and its really not clear, someone must have experienced the same

I had the same code thrown constantly was driving me nuts trying to find out what it was.  Have you removed the cat?  Sounds weird but I had a de-cat pipe installed and the 01089 code was always thrown exactly the same time as the emissions code was thrown

No engine etc is totally standard.

Trouble is the MK5 GTI i had before would throw the same code, and i never managed to get to the bottom of it then.

Some people say its related to the charcoal canister but it often comes back anyway.

very weird, I didn't even get that far into finding an answer!
