Any suggestions anybody? I've just fitted my setup with used textar pads and there's a lot of squealing which I was expecting but I didn't want to spend on new pads until everything was fitted up etc. Thinking about Brembo pads but does anybody have any other suggestions. I don't want anything mental/track day pads (ds2500 etc) am I best off going for £50ish OE (on the Porsche at least) replacement stuff?
I have anti squeal shims but haven't fitted them as they look to be single use jobbies and I didn't want to waste them on the used pads, I know this will cure a bit of the sound but I fail to see how it would make them silent on the current pads!
I've had a read. Through the main thread on the mod but wanted some more specific answers and people's experiences!
The brakes are awesome by the way, highly recommended! But if they continue to be this noises I might change my mind a little!!
Cheers, Pete

Not taking the P but when you fitted the pads, did you use that Copper grease on the BACK of the pads?
-
No copper grease, and failed to fit the anti squeal dampers this time around as the used pads were filthy on the backside so I don't think they would have stuck very well. I'm not saying I'm surprised by the squealing. I just don't want to shell out for new pads which will be just as bad so looking to know what people use with no squeals.
Thankfully i have more sense than to lubricate the friction side of the pads :)

lol just saying,
Id probably clean up the pads, try to remove as much of the dust first, then put some grease on see if it gets rid of the squealing

Don't use copper grease it's not compatible with the dust boots, use this instead from GSF and the likes:

You won't truly get rid of brake squeal with these brakes I'm afraid but they are very good!

Thanks for the tip!
I've ordered a set of Pagid pads for £50-odd will get them on at the weekend with some of this plastilube and the shims and see what happens.
The brakes are excellent, very pleased indeed with them. Just would like them quieter!

I had ds2500 on my standard calipers and they squeaked more than these are at the minute! Great pad. But not for a daily for me. Felt like a right pikey squeaking through car parks.
I've ordered some Pagid oe style pads and some plastilube. I'll make sure to give the discs a thorough clean and see how I get on. will let y'all know how I get on.
