Sorry for the noob question.. :ashamed: I did try to search but couldn't find a straight forward answer..
Can someone tell me how (if) I can make it so the standard gti alarm (06) beeps when I lock/unlock the vehicle?
Many thanks,
Mike

you'll need VCDS or similar to activate it

Fairly sure you said your harlow? not sure if its any help but I could meet you in dartford one evening and I'd be happy to code it up for you along with anything else you have in mind :)
I recently changed my locking so one press of the lock button on my key does the entire car and one unlock does everything, along with the "beep" noise :)

Cheers bud, that's kind of ya.. What I'll do is put together a couple of jobs that need coding and maybe do it in one hit..

I bought a cheap £5 Bluetooth OBD dongle from eBay and then an android app called Carista for £15. This combo allows me to scan for fault codes and also change quite a few settings such as beep on lock/unlock, daytime lights, come home lights, key fob opening options etc....
For £20 I think it's great.

Ditto (no name pun intended). Great piece of kit! Lots of free Android apps too if you just wish to read codes.

Cheers, Do you know where Eddie is based?
Some people on here have offered their services to do some coding for me also which is all really helpful.. Just as well considering how expensive my local VW dealer is..
