think its worth the shortshift?
-
i love the short shift. makes it feel so much more sporty. feels horrible driving a car with std gear shift
-
short shift is good mate but give vwr a call as i know the one i have on mine is awesome now we sorted what the 07 plate cars had changed on them
-
which brand? people moan at the forge one...? neuspeed?
-
mines 07, does that mean im gonna have problems? idealy i want amd technik to do it all in one job, and they aint gonna have the vwr one
-
nice one steve! have you got the zorst yet, what pipes did you go for?? im getting mine done on the 4th of jan, cant wait!
i know what you mean about getting other bits done at the same time though ive been wavering about the WALK kit but im too skint! :chicken:
-
the zorst is just two circles if thats what u mean?
-
I've had the forge shortshift on both my .:R32's and love clicking into gears with my fingers rather than stirring porridge with my arm
worth doing :xmaspresent:
-
a mate of mine has the neuspeed one on his ed30 but it had to be made to fit lol oh and just give Mat at vwr a call mate he will sort u out a shifter and tell u what u need to change on our cars :happy2: as vw changed a few of the arms on the shifter setup to plastic crap and they dont work very well with the short shifters as they can pop out of gear and u end up with no gears :surprised:
-
my car is 57 plate and has the forge with no issues. its been on for about 10k as well

i think it just a golf thing mate its the plastic side to side action bar that vw changed from a metal one to a plastic one so the throw is all out
-
yeh exactly steve, must be like mine then as its two circley thing on mine too! :signLOL:
when you getting it fitted? :xmaspresent:
-
should i jus stick with the forge then?
just REALLY cant b arsed with any problems with it, especially as amd is 60 odd miles each way
Next week, Thursday 31st of all days.. :D
-
my forge has been on for over 10k too, they just need checking from time to time
-
checking? :scared:

i think forge was doing a revised version for the 07 up cars and i think white gti has the new version so just send him a pm and ask
-
checking? :scared:
making sure the bolt is tight nothing sinister :innocent:
-
hum.
suppose i should ring forge and ask about this new rev then... reallly cant be arsed with problems
-
to be honest mate the forge one and the vwr look to me like the same people make them for both of them but forge stick there name on the one they do :rolleye:
-
ooo new years eve prezzie! will be looking forward to some feed back those few days before mine is done! :happy2:
-
Nooooooo problem, can guarantee ill be going on about something! good or bad! LOL
-
You'll love the difference in the car once the work is done Steve. It's like having a new car all over again :xmaspresent:
-
hope so, make it worth the spend.. lol

email i got from forge:
Hi
I have had a Forge Shifter fitted for over 2 years now and no problems? We only do Forge so I can’t supply a Neuspeed item but I have never had a problem with a Forge shifter and we sell 5-6 a month?

matt is spot on here, vwr supply the metal side arm with the shift, change no doubt made by been counters :fighting:

i was the first to find out about this so me and Mark Farmer of vwr compared a few gti and we said it was down the side action so we tried a rocco item first but that was too tight so i said could it be down to the old style type ie the metal one and low and behold it works and its perfect
