I discovered a few months ago that my car may have a remap on it as the VCDS boost figures were looking that way after some helpful chaps on here looked at them.
Now the garage I bought the car from has no clue so was wondering if there was anyway of telling what sort of map it was. As in is may there be a certain software signature to identify?

Anyone on this as would be nice knowing that it was at least a reputable map and I am not driving around something with a dodgy map

If you're in doubt, find a tuner & get it remapped to your spec? Gotta be worth a few hundred quid for your peace of mind. Alternatively, if you're getting good clean power delivery, sensible mpg, no smoke and nothing nasty flagged in a service (excessively dirty oil, for instance) - why not leave it? :-)

No way of telling, best thing to do is have a rolling road health check, that will make sure its running safely and well, and show you what power/ torque curves its doing and what its making. Prob cost £70-80. Not just a power run...

Cheers chaps,
I am no expert but has just been in for a service at VW and no issues reported relating to this. Also have drive it sine April and gave it some whelly on several occasions and no issues like mentioned above.
Has run fine since April so I am hopefully safe from it being a dodgy map.
Will get in into a rolling road for a healthcheck to ease my mind. In the meatime is there any VCDS runs I can do to check certain measure to make sure it is all running okay.
I have already done the BHP/Torque runs which initially gave me the surprise it was potentially mapped with the Boots and BHP figures I was getting
