Title: iPod Connection Under Arm Rest - Lightning Adapter
Post by: Deako on October 14, 2015, 08:55:12 pm
Hi all. I annoyingly don't have the MDI box, but I have the 30 pin iPod Adapter under the arm rest. Does anyone know if this will work with the Apple 30 pin to Lightning Adapter?

I would prefer to swap to the MDI, in an ideal world, as I have one of the proper MDI -> Lightning cables i got from VW.

So my iPod connector no longer seems to offer power since fitting my RNS510. Do I have to amend the wiring somewhere?

I have an end 510 and the old style iPod thingy in the armrest but never use it cos I have a usb input infront of the gearstick.
I wouldn't mind knowing if the mdi will work with the rns510 though

I don't recall having that socket on the back of my RNS510.

surely the ipod connects as aux, so if you have usb that is plugged into aux, so in effect the ipod is not connected???

The original iPod adapter isn't compatible with the RNS, you need an MDI.
