Hi everyone,
I have an ED30 and it has the original RCD300 fitted, I also have the iPod doc in my armrest.
I want to bluetooth music from my iPhone through my stereo, any ideas how to do this without spending a load of money on a new unit?

I fitted an xcarlink to my RCD300 last year and works fine with the steering wheel controls, has bluetooth streaming and handsfree calling. I placed it behind the glove box (there is large enough ledge if you reach up behind from inside) and have a lightning cable inside the glove box for charging. The handsfree microphone I ran in gaps along the instrument panel and then up the side of the a pillar (under the trim) just to the top right of the windscreen. Probably not the cheapest device on the market, but I have had no issues with IOS updates and using two different iPhones.

Any retrofit box such as a parrot kit is unlikely to have a powerful amp. You could have Bluetooth steaming but if you're into music you'll notice the quality isn't good.
I fitted a Pioneer AVH-X2700 in my ed30 and love it. The quality of the Bluetooth is the best I've ever used. Highly recommended unit(https://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F15%2F10%2F19%2F24da43f12c872101a36eff0d08f49b8f.jpg&hash=6a5886964772ec9102632342f8f7dfb8a7155d7c)

There are different versions of the oem bluetooth units available. The older ones which are 5n0 version are limited to what phones they work on. The 7p6 Bluetooth unit is the most common one used as it works on all phones and streams music.
Ill pm u pricing
