Hi everyone !
I'm considering swapping my s2000 for a mk5 gti.
I've seen a 56 plate black one with 72k on the clock at the Cheltenham lexus garage (was this yours !!!)
I'm curious to know the answers to a few quick things !
1- it had a vw sat nav with 6 disc changer in the armrest. Is it possible to get a Bluetooth module for my iPhone for phone, and a way to plug in an iPod I keep in the car ? If so any ballpark idea on cost ?
2- roughly what bhp can you realistically get these engines to with a remap ? 240-250 ?
3- I'm used to an s2000 which I have done some bits and pieces to resulting in me not being massively behind basic non gt3 911's on the track. Are there any 'must do' handling mods to tighten things up ?
4-I'm a bit of a whore for loving the community on s2ki. Do you chaps and ladies do many meets and drives ?
Thanks for the help in advance and speak to you soon !

off a k03 gti(200ps)
stage 1 remap 240Bhp/260-280Ibft
stage 2 remap(plus TBE /intake) 260bhp/280-300Ibft
stage 2+ remap(TBE/intake/intercooler/fuel pump) 270-280hp/310Ibft +
k04 ed 3 GTI (roughly)
stage 1 remap 270-300bhp
stage 2 remap(plus above mods) 300bhp-320Bhp
stage 2+ remap(mods as above) 330-360Ibft +
there areplenty of meets going on on here, not managed one myself yet, but its on my todo list
Anti roll bars, anti lift kits, make huge differences on these cars, add coilovers, and LSD and you have a seriously capable car

Hi,
I've had two S2000's and an Edition 30 GTi .... I don't have either any more but love both the S2000 and regret selling my edition 30.
With a remap the Edition 30 is quite a bit quicker than the S2000 but they are totally different cars! FWD v RWD convertible.
You wouldn't regret getting a GTi after an S2000 so long as you realised one is more of an all rounder whereas the other is a RWD top down screamer :)
The standard GTi when remapped would seriously surprise an S2000 but the S2000 experience isn't all about speed and I always used to get out of mine with a smile on my face.
I found the bigger turbo of the Edition 30 pulls seriously hard at higher revs when remapped and this gave me a bit of the 'feeling' I enjoyed so much with the S2000.
Handling wise I have found both are great but again, it is all down to the FWD or RWD feeling and what you like. The Golf certainly won't disappoint with it's handling but the S2000 feels likes it's going quicker when in reality the Golf is probably the easier to drive.
I can't slag off either .... they are both great. Go and try - but if you can stretch to an Edition 30 I think you would prefer it .... but I am biased
