Title: Do wipers stop working if bonnet doesnt lock ?

Yesterday my bonnet decided it wasn't going to close and lock anymore. I've had a play about with it and used WD40 but still wont work. Anyway its booked in for Thursday to get sorted. However, this morning I tried to use the windscreen wipers and they wouldn't work properly. So my question is are the two connected somehow ?
Thanks in advance for any help you guys may be able to offer, and apologies if this has been asked millions of times already  :happy2:

Yes, wipers will be disabled unless the bonnet is closed properly
