Title: Changing My Rear Brakes
Post by: shaunnorris7 on November 12, 2015, 03:48:34 pm
Looking to change the rear brakes on my GT TDI to R32 to match the fronts.

But looking quite costly and the fact I'd then need to get the calipers and carriers re-done in red!

So now looking at GTI. I'm aware the discs will be 286mm solid and not 310mm vented.

Before I buy anything, can I just confirm whether I actually need different calipers and carriers?

Or are my capilers the same and I just need the GTI carriers?

OR.. can anyone point me in the direction of some red R32 ones?

Cheers

If you have R32 calipers up front then the larger 310mm rears would be a lot better.
My friend got a whole set inc new discs and pads for £180.
doesn't matter about colour really, got hammerrite / spray paint :D
I think the calipers are the same so if you went 286 I think it's just new carriers but may be wrong.
