I have my 2006 GTI booked in on a local tuners rollers at the end of the month.
By then i will have stage 1 bluefin, pre-cat delete, carbonio panel filter, BCS cat back, new cam follower and rev G DV, what would you expect to be a good result from that lot with just the standard bluefin map?
The car has done 78k with full VW history and is always run on super unleaded, 97 ron not the shell 99 ron stuff.
I'm hoping for 245+, is that realistic?
What's a realistic torque figure?
-
Yeah ~240
-
The mods you've added won't really help top end too much, a proper intake and a downpipe & stage 2 mapping would have been better, as would moving away from Bluefin
What you can expect can be found on the bluefin website:

Depends on the brand of the rollers (and therefore the accuracy) :happy2:
-
Blufin? They still going! :scared:
Get shot of the Carbonio and get an intake. Precat will aid flow a little so not all bad. You have a stage 1 car so 240 ish and God only know what kind of rollercoaster torque figure you'll have with the Blufin.

Get rid of the Blufin, I got mine free with the car and it felt sluggish with it and the boost was all over the place, went APR in the end for my Mk6 Golf R and it's now Stage 2+ running 360bhp with a VWR intake, full BCS powervalve exhaust and a APR fuel pump and it's scary fast!

Had bluefin GET RID.....worse mapping I've ever had, my edition 30 came with it and I'm glad i never paid for it.
-
As it happens my car also come with bluefin and i'm not that disappointed with it tbh.
I will eventually get it mapped via either revo or r-tech, but as this is my daily round town car, and i live in a big city, just getting above 30mph is a challenge tbh, so massive power isn't massively important atm.
I will probably get it rolled here in bristol at interpro who i have used previously to tune my old scooby.
Is the low down torque better with the revo/r-tech maps, if i don;t get it custom mapped?

It's not the feeling of it that was the problem, after seeing Niki to get rid of map and do some dyno logging my stage 1 edition 30 on bluefin always felt quicker than others yet still at full throttle did not feel great. The dyno showed 333hp and 375ftlb and almost 3 bar of boost as you can imagine I'm glad it didn't go bang as it would of shortly. huge spikes and unsafe boost. My 2 cence worth

Do these maps not have fuel cut for det or over boosting then?
I'm sure mine is fine, just want a smoother power and torque figure than i think i have at the moment.
I had a word with myself last night and am now going to plan a trip to R-TECH in the new year...:)
Anyone know what their waiting list is normally like?

I'm booking mine in for tte work, its after xmas i think.

My GT TDI 170 has a bluefin map, had it on the rollers the other day and it was a measly 187 BHP when it's meant to be around 200 with their map.
Torque was 313 lbft, which is about what I expected (~320).
The power curve is nice and it holds all the way to red-line at least.
Kinda wish I didn't waste my money on it now :/

3 bar of boost :surprised: :surprised: :surprised:
Thats a lot of boost mate
-
Lol yeah tell me about it
-
Thats 3 bar of absolute pressure, which is 2 bar of boost.
