Title: Intake cleaning
Post by: GSP1973 on November 19, 2015, 08:56:31 pm
Can Any members here in Ireland suggest a local garage who would do an intake clean.? Or is it something I'd have to do myself. I wouldn't have enough knowledge to be comfortable giving it a go

What intake do you have?

I guess he means removing the inlet manifold to give the valves a good clean.

Do you not have any VW specialists local to you?

I've rang around a couple but some don't seem to be interested. I'm guessing it's a time consuming job?

Will do cutchie. I just hope it can be done quicker than 4/5 hours as I have to hang around and wait. No point driving to Belfast again

Thank you for the reply. I bet carb cleaner and a lot of scraping and blowing out with an air blower will do the job.
I might have a go at this when the weather gets warmer as a lot of carbon can build up inside.

Thanks
