I've been away from the mk5 scene for about a year, although it was inevitable I would be back, bloody love them, such a brilliant all round car!
My most recent mk5 platform was my K04 Octavia vRS which I had last year, running at 324bhp, probably should have kept it to be honest!

Anyway, enough about the past, I bought my current mk5 Gti recently,
The plan was originally to pick up an edition 30 in England but the sterling rate was making it too expensive tbh!
The car has almost all the spec I wanted, only thing missing is a sunroof.
2007 3dr in reflex silver
DSG gearbox with paddle shift
Xenon headlights
Wingback Recaro heated leather interior
Dual climate control
Highline MFD
Multi function steering wheel
Heated leather
Rear parking sensors
IPod docking in armrests
Heated headlight and windscreen washers
Auto lights
Auto dim rear view interior and exterior mirrors
Luxury pack, Folding and auto dip in reverse mirrors with puddle lights
Rcd 500 6cd head unit
VW Bury Bluetooth kit
Cruise control
Rain sensors
17" monza's
The only modification on the car is some oem ED30 darkened tail lights, but that's all about to change in the coming months.....

There's lots of plans in the pipeline, any comments or suggestion's welcome
-
Haha, welcome back Mark, that didn't take you long after all, wheels going on anytime soon?
Excellent spec mate, I want those seats
James
-
Thanks James, the car will be getting lowered first and then the wheels will be refurbished and fitted after the winter!
Really looking forward to seeing them on.....
-
Welcome back Mark, nice gti you got your self
-
Well hello good to have another Irish mk5 on here, you don't hang around either mark so looking forward to this over the next few months... Love the Recaro.
-
Thanks pal, don't worry I've got a very long wish list drawn up for this,
Hopefully it will take shape very soon.....
-
Congrats! That's a great base to start with, very well spec'd! Will you go for a K04 conversion as well?
-
Your seats make me very happy
-
The plan is to get it sorted aesthetically first, I would love to get back to k04 again though!!
-
Best seats :D Definitely need to get some for myself when I discover a money tree :')
-
Hasn't been much happening with this recently, dark evenings and cold wet weather make it hard to get motivated!
I picked up a set of genuine 18" Monza's refurbished in light anthracite, I think they really look good contrasting against the reflex silver

Nice! Awesome seats. Had a set in my last GTI.
Wheels colour works well with the silver - I may be biased tho....
-
:happy2:
Silver is the way !
:congrats:
-
I really like this. It's got all the right bits. The wheels are good on reflex too - if they were also silver it might be a bit too much.
Nice Octy too.

I had been seriously thinking about selling this as I literally work 5 minutes from home, it's not getting the use it deserves.
But I just couldn't bring myself to sell it when push came to shove, so it'll be staying!
I took a few photos recently, thought I'd throw them up here

Looking good mate, love the seats
-
Don't sell it man! Working 5 minutes from home is ideal. Means you can keep the miles off it, but take it for some fun drives when you find an excuse. I'm in the same boat.
People would kill for that spec. So keep it.
If you change your mind drop the seats out before you sell it and part ex them against my leather GTI seats. If only I could afford what they're worth though!
-
I don't use my Golf during the week so it only gets used on evenings and weekends. I also have two other cars. Completely illogical thing to own, but I love it so it doesn't matter
