Title: Identifying head unit to find out aux retrofit options

Hi all,

So I got a standard '58 plate GTI with mid-line cluster, and non-sat nav head unit.

My manual code for the radio is 8AG (I hope that is unique to a certain type of head unit and not just for all of them).

I believe I can retrofit an aux cable to that one (based on age), but I'm not sure of the process either.

Any advice please?

you should be able to fit an aux to most units regardless of model. My RCD300 unit had the ipod dock in the arm-rest, and it simply unplugs from the back of the old stereo and into the new one when changing to my RCD510 unit
