Title: Steering Wheel Angle Sensor
Post by: Nasir on December 04, 2015, 01:43:19 pm
Hi,

Just bought a 2007 DSG GTI recently. It's a great car however there are a couple of issues.

In the morning, after about 10 minutes of driving the steering wheel light, ESP and tyre pressure light come on. They go off by themselves after 5 minutes of driving.

Could this be related to a weak battery? It doesn't happen again no matter how much you drive it. The car struggles to start in the morning (new battery on the way).

I've just done the reset via VCDS this morning, which showed an intermittent fault with the steering angle sensor. I see there is one for sale in the classifieds but my post count is too low.

Just an update to this in case anyone has a similar problem. I did a full reset of the steering angle sensor and steering limits and the lights haven't come on this morning. Seems like it's fixed.

Rear ABS sensor?

Don't think so mate. VCDS says steering wheel angle sensor. The light came back on momentarily, but hasn't returned since  :stupid:

Had a flat tyre at the time, which was also causing a terrible drone noise before it went. Fingers crossed the light doesn't come back on.
