Hi all
I've just got my R32 style rear valance of ebay today and it's pretty shocking if I'm honest, it has no clips to clip onto the bumper and the surface is a bit shocking too.
So what I want to know if anyone has bought and fitted one, I mean they may look amazing after a skim of filler and paint. The only thing is that I don't want to start drilling/sanding it down for it to look naff when it's on. So if anyone has dealt with them please let me know, the link for the one I've bought is below!

Cheers, Dan

It actually turned out really well to be honest!
I'll add a picture when I figure out how to do it on my phone!
-
I bought mine from ppcgb. Check out my project retrofit thread for pics. Came out really good

Yeah that's pretty much the same as mine apart from mine has the exhaust hole.
Looks good though!
-
No trimming cutting to fit ???
-
Not with mine nope. The only things I had to do were to screw it to the original half of the bumper as mine didn't come with clips, just flat tabs to screw into. The other thing was to drill a few holes for the inner arch to fit onto the bumper as they weren't there already.
Like I say once I figure out how to put a picture up I will.
I think I may have to go onto the laptop to do it!
-
After buying an eBay special front valance its safe to say I Will NEVER buy a knock off part again, the fitment was ridiculous and it took more time to re-sand and paint everything I may as well of just bought a genuine one that fits perfect already :z
-
That's what I thought about mine when I took it out of the box. But after some high build primer and paint it's come out near perfect!
-
That's the thing with after market goods!.
You need to play around with the thing to get it to fit or look as good as the oem parts.
-
How the hell do I upload a picture?!
The only thing I can find is the 'insert image' button, but all that does is put some text in the text box?!

Finally figured it out with a little help from the forum!!
So yeah, this is how my valance turned out! :)
-
Looks like ill fitting on the edge where it's not level with the arch???
-
Yeah when I first offered it up before paint I thought it look gash!
But now it's on and painted it actually looks alright, especially in person. But yes as you've pointed out, the valance doesn't sit completely flush to the bumper near to where it meets the arch. Honestly though in person it looks much better, I kinda think it looks more aggressive maybe?
-
This is mine in my GT Sport. Not perfect but I think it looks better than my previous OEM GTI colour-coded valance, and it's much cheaper than an Ed. 30 rear valance.

For the price I guess we can't complain. It reminds me of my votex front spoiler on the tt that fitted over the existing bumper lower half which did look good.
If the valance is fitted like that all the way round then t would look good but not just the corners  could it have been adjusted a little for the slight lip to increase around the whole bumper?. I'm thinking it can as you've had to drill your own holes into the top half correct?.
-
It's in as far as it can go, there's no real adjustment in it. But it doesn't sit completely flush all the way around, I think the angle of the photo just makes it seem less flush on the corners. I'd say it sticks out about 5 or 10mm out from the original bumper.
Like previously said though, it looks a million times better than just the standard black plastic valance, or even worse when people get that colour coded!! I personally hate to see that!
Everyone has their own oppions really :)
However I think these cheap aftermarket valances look pretty good after a bit of prep and paint, especially for the money
-
That's probably good that it pokes a out by 5mm odd which will give it a brow type of look :happy2:
-
Planning to do this myself soon! Soon very very soon!
Glad to have come across someone who has actually done it! Looks great man!

This is mine from the same place

It does look good for what it is so may have to do that if I get the chance or spare cash :signLOL: would also want the front ed30 style though.
found one on ebay for the rear but £250 was the asking price.
