I used the Autoglym leather cleaner and this worked well. When I applied the balm it just made the leather shiny and hard.
Is there any point in putting on the balm?
I think the MK5 has a top coat on the leather, so the balm isn't going to get through this right?

After some more reading the balm is apparently a no-go.

Just forget using leather conditioners etc on modern leather, they don't need it IMO. Just use a leather cleaner and be done :happy2: autogylm make a good leather cleaner

Yeah cheers bud. I use the autoglym cleaner and it works well. It just threw me off when it said you have to use the balm after, otherwise the leather is not protected.
Well it has a top coat so the leather can't even be touched!
