Hi guys,
Fitted my bi xenons in today but the indicators on both sides aren't working and I was also trying to turn the drls off as one isn't working.
Anyone in the know who can help me would be appreciated.
Thanks
M

Did you use kufatec adaptors or wire them manually?
-
Hi, I just plugged them in direct as the seller said I didn't have to use adaptors as they are plug and play.
These aren't proper xenon headlights!.
These are copies and I've fitted a hid bulb kit to them.
Thanks

Ahh, sorry, no help here! Thought they were OEM xenons.
Good luck! :happy2:

Did you hmmm.. check the bulbs ?
-
Brand new bulbs and wiring as they were burnt out on the driver side but I did a good job of repairing them.
the amber bulbs are the side lights and always on as seller told me but left hand only works.
Okay been told the the orange 501 are definately the side lights. That could just be a blown bulb/fuse
The ones you repaired are the indicators. I've put led canbus in those I have repaired so need to get them working tomorrow as I can't drive the car like that.
Going to have a look at the fuse tomorrow and re check the bulbs but they are new as I've also used the same for my side lights on the oem headlights so I know they are working.
I'll need to turn off the remote coming home lights as this will limit the lifetime of the hid bulbs and ballasts.
Thanks

If I wish I could fit them but I certainly don't need them tbh
Maybe if I replace the number with a jetta one and it has washers I will as it's a cool gadget :jumpmove:

Regards not needing them on UK mainland??? Some testers WILL fail you for not having them but I'll check with dave or Gareth at work and they can advise me better as I don't have an mot cert :sad1:

So if your car has oem Xenons but no headlight washer is a fail?

Mainland the rule is that you MAY have to fit washers. Northern Ireland is stupid and the rule is you MUST.
the mainland requires them only if they were fitted from factory, in your case not.

I know Ireland is funny and have high pricing for road tax as a coupe of tt users expressed this to me.
Silly rules really.
I've also read somewhere that if you fit after market bi xenons you also have to fit washers in place but cannot remember what website or who's site it was.
Update edit blah di blah
You don't need washers and headlight level sensors if they weren't fitted as standard but if they are fitted must work.
Also this doesn't mean your car is road legal and can effect your insurance if you haven't told them. Police can stop you for these also.
The after market lights must be angled correctly and not dazzle other road users.
This is what I mentioned in another post in here too.

I think the 6000k H7R bulbs worked out fine

Look really smart mate, any difficulties with operation? Do they level ok and did you sort the coming home function

Thanks
No difficulties at all.
Level fine with the internal switch at three stages.
Coming home lights can be switched off via vcds so when I get home and turn the ignition off the lights turn out and I lock the doors via remote. once returning to the car I unlock via remote and the lights come on as I prefer the lights to come on at night  I will be switching the coming home lights off when the weather and daylight returns.
