Hi folks,
Im thinking of a revo stage 1 on my 09 mk6 Gti. What are the chances of having to replace clutch within a year?
I see lots of people on tinterweb have ended up replacing them, but talking to my local VW specialist they say stage 1 will be fine but replace if going stage 2.
Anyone had to replace theirs?
-
You'll probably need to replace it.

Ok thanks. I had a quote for a Sachs clutch and flywheel of £1250 fitted. Does that sound about right? I think so.
-
Hah no.
Speak to Alex @ AKS.
He will do you an uprated Helix clutch for a lot less than that.
I paid around 1k for my 6 paddle helix with new flywheel fitted at Alexs. He even collected the car for me cos I was an idiot and forgot
-
AKS? Where is that? I'm in Exeter, Devon
-
Alex is based in Bedford but he could ship you the clutch.
It's about 4 hours labour to fit.
I think they are around £700 for a kit, maybe a tad more.
Still should be a saving.
Helix is regarded as the better of the clutches for these cars.

Ok, thanks for the info buddy.

You are looking at £750 for just the parts for an organic and DMF. For paddle and SMF you are looking at more.
The organic and DMF is suitable for over 400lb ft. So for a K03 GTI more than enough.
