Post by: Hurdy on January 02, 2010, 02:08:10 pm
Mine are.......

Get under 13 seconds on the 1/4 mile

Do at least 10 RWYB's/track days this year.

Lose at least another 50kg out of the car (and not me losing weight :signLOL:)

What are your car resolutions?

Crack 370bhp on the dyno with my K1.
Get a quaife diff in the car.

Crack 200bhp and 9.5secs 1/4 mile with my ZZR1400

Beat my best time of 8m13 sec on the Ring with my Fireblade.

Do a trackday @ Cadwell in the K1.

Live long enough to do all the above :happy2:

....There's a forum trip in May including Worthensee - See the Meets area.

Otherwise, I would recommend The Nurburgring Experience who Hurdy and myself went with last October. I plan to go with them again.

If I hadn't moved back to Brum and have to pay £2500/yr (the cheapest and was with directline!), I could have gone with adrian flux for £800 and then made a visit to JKM.

I'm not rich enough to have money coming out of my arse.

Yet.  :P

Untill the Quality of the Golf R is known, then its difficult to draw a conclusion imo. Still expensive for just a "golf"

Fix my still broken car so I can get shot of it and actually get a GTI at long last. Every time I get close to sorting it all out, something else comes along and pushes the GTI just out of reach. I've been a member here getting on for a year now and still no Golf... I feel like a fraud!

Yes i have, but same goes you havent been in a Golf R yet .

Untill its been tested and making an asumption the S3 is better without trying the other car , maybe abit premature

the s3 is better built than an r32/ed30 imo. Cant really see the vw being better built as Audi is meant to be more prestigeous.

Its a secret.

But spend as little money on the k1 as possible. Will only do supporting mods to maintain reliability. Enjoy the 2010 show and track season, and then it will be getting traded in and will be aiming for 500+ in the new car :D

the mk 6 R is an S3 with a different body shell and interior imo the audi looks better from the out side and the inside of the S3 is just a so much better place to be than the golf . i m not putting the golf down cause i love em but after a few months of the S3 i would find going back to the golf quite hard  :happy2:

It doesn't thought does it? The S3 has the Haldex system from the mkV R32, the R has a new revised Haldex from the current generation Saabs and the Insignia and is significantly more advanced than the systems on the R32 and the one masquerading as Quattro on the S3.

I was going to say Golf R but some recent production pics havn't done it any favours, I am now tempted with a S3 Sportback S-Tronic if I'm honest.

The haldex as used in the saab turbo x is more advanced than the haldex in the s3, new R and even the TT-RS. VAG are still experimenting with the most advanced haldex setup.
