Title: Reverse parking sensor kit fitting service
Post by: r5gtt on January 02, 2016, 08:40:07 pm
What do people want fitted to their golf's?.
Would you choose whatever as im looking to do a supply & or fitting service but what are people after?.
Can also paint and lacquer them for an additional cost or keep them as per matt black/gloss black.

Thanks

I am after fitting the optical parking sensors to the front of the car and hook them up to the original rears plus so it can show up on my rcd510.

Thanks

I have after market reverse sensors but would have had the optical lot done had I known about it or if it was a feasible option cost wise. Would be interested to hear what you're proposing for this idea

From my experience on fitting PS you have an option of after market ones with an on/off button. All others are a complete 8 piece sensor kit. Hopefully I'm not wrong as the ones I've fitted so far have been after market products.
Prefer a complete set or oem installs rather than half chop shops.

I've never fitted two different types of kit unless the customer had oem ones from factory and just wants an after market on/off switch type for the front. Full kits are a lot easier to fit imho. optical sensors are now a craze for a lot of people so I'm happy to fit them but would prefer no messing around with two different kits not that I've heard of anyone fitting the two types of kit to one set up

Well I've got the original rear 4 at the moment if I've got to replace them am not too fussed just want the fronts really because me Mrs is using the car now and want to make sure she doesn't bump it. Want to keep it oem not one for aftermarket gear really.

If you can supply the oem kit then I'd be happy to puncture a few holes in the front bumper and wire up the rest as I've had to do a car kind of blind folded not knowing where what was and no one else wanted to touch it at work  :stupid: or just lazy bunch of bleeps I have to work with. Instructions always help but having said that, some don't have words and only pictures  :scared: :signLOL: to guide.

The neatest after market ones are the cobra ones, often better then OEM (look at a Porsche and you'll see what I mean!)
