Title: What air compressor to buy for home diy'er???
Post by: Colinspence on January 07, 2016, 12:51:30 pm
I'm fed up with having to go the the local garage every time I can't use my hand tools at home to get parts of the car I.e suspension parts ect...
And the labour costs are never cheap ,
So I'm looking in to buying an air compressor and air gun so I'll have my own little set up and save garage costs

But Iv no idea where to start and looking and what type of compressor I need

Only got a few humdred to spend .. Seen a few on eBay and the net but in most of the pics it shows a paint gun on the air line? Will  that still do the job ? And I'll be able to attach an air gun to it to whizz wheele bolts of  Etc???

Any help welcome please

Thanks.

What about a battery powered impact wrench?

Google...

Snap on and Milwaukee are good brands. Youll find most garages use these rather than air guns these days.

Yeah some of those cordless impact guns are seriously grunty.  If they can remove wheel bolts, you should have no trouble with other suspension bits.

The more powerful ones are pretty bulky though, so might be tricky in tight spaces.   That's where air tools come in handy!
