Do the Pirelli/Ed 30's have a HPFP as standard or do they need upgrading to a HPFP if going Stage 2?

They do have a HPFP... an OEM one.
Stage 2 doesnt require an uprated HPFP... but it helps/

That isn't strictly true. Some cars get away with it, some don't. The only way to know for sure is to monitor the requested and actual fuel rail measuring blocks on the dyno. You'll soon know because the lambda will peg out +25% if the HPFP can't keep up.....and run lean.
My ED30 needed one running 1.3 bar boost. 'Stage X' is irrelevant. It comes down to boost pressure. I went with the LOBA one.
The midrange can be pegged back a bit with a standard pump as the turbo hitches it's skirt up and kicks hard. Always best to have too much fuel than not enough.

I have stage 2 without a upgraded HPFP. It runs fine.
Would it be better with a HPFP... yes.

Oh OK, so I imagined things when I saw my actual rail pressure falling way short of requested. Thanks for clearing that up. £500 down the drain.

Im based in Dublin so when I do get around to getting the car mapped in R-Tech. I would like to not have to come back to get it done again with a new HPFP so Ill prob get one fitted before I go over.
They're bloody expensive though :(

If you putting on a HPFP you might as well change the intercooler as well and go stage 2+

Yeah, worth the trouble if you're going for it.
Exhaust (downpipe at least) > HPFP > intercooler > air induction.

IMO no need to travel to the UK when you have Joe on your doorstep. Drop me a PM if you want more info (or tell me to mind my own business) :laugh:)

Seriously though, pretty sure R Tech monitor the fuel rail pressures during mapping and they'll soon see whether you need a pump or not. Hopefully you won't as the Loba is eye wateringly expensive. Nice though and all the fuel you'll ever need for future mods.

Im not sure hes on the same level as R-Tech. The figures for my MK6 were less than inspiring.
I wouldnt mind a road trip and get a number of things done while Im over there.
I feel a trip to Centre of Gravity is on the cards too. :)

Not to state the obvious, but bare in mind you won't be making the figures the boys are showing on here unfortunately, due to the crap fuel we get, these guys have the luxury of 99RON where we can only get 95RON. I'm sure Joe's figures are less for a reason.....
