Sealing them can be a nightmare, I've used a bitchumen paint before which has sealed leaks (mine was from a gutter at the rear where a mounting bolt went through).

get rid of the roof and fibreglass it

get rid of the roof and fibreglass it
Would but it's a council garage

Also... if it is asbestos, you aren't supposed to touch/move it. You are supposed to get professional asbestos people in..... who are not cheap.
-
@maxitrol as rich said. Be very careful with that asbestos. If its council i thought you would have lucked in as its there responsibility to maintain it. Get on the blower and give them hell cause they'll try everything to say its your fault and you have to foot the bill.

Most recycling centres (tips) can supply the bags for Abestos disposal, some you have to pre-book. Always wear a suit / gloves and mask... Douse it with lots of water if possible too. We did a small shed in my Grandads back garden last year, the proper companies wanted over 1500 to do the job, we did it in an afternoon. Good luck :)

With it been a garage it's not on the council emergency list so goe knows when it will get done even thou an paying rent on it but have to put a car cover over it in the garage :stupid:

Yea. They'll try anything from having to do it. Tell them youve notified then from such date. From then onwards you will bill then for damage to the car and or any other damagable properties. You can even use the asbestos to your advantage as its a health hazard now. Try and find what they're requirements are regarding the garage, i.e what happens once you notify them, how long can they take to do it. Do they even have to touch it/part repair/full change over. Tell them you need solid date too, that way you can hold them to it. I work in construction so happy to help whenever you need it.

Just as a ball park... we had to get our kitchen ceiling tested for asbestos (artex). Had it contained asbestos if would have cost 1400 quid to remove. it. :fighting:
