Hi just picked up the Kenwood unit, currently plan to install it with the supplied GPS unit and window DAB aerial attached to the centre of the dash where the air vent is and see what reception is like. Anyone use these locations?
Anybody know much about updating the firmware and maps?
Also have the iPod interface lead which I will attach a 30 pin Bluetooth adaptor to get Bluetooth audio

I have this headunit, ld check the Kenwood website for updates before you fully install it as its a radio out job to get to the usb port on the back.
My DAB aerial is at the too left of my windscreen, seems to work fine, but l live in the sticks, so l dont get much DAB reception.

Cheers any info on the handbrake bypass mod?

I have a dnx521 dab radio to install. Do you have just a regular window dab aerial? I don't understand where exactly you are talking about putting it because I don't really want it in my window and if there is somewhere else it can go out of sight and it still work that will be awesome

@Burbs22 (http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=9023) mine is top left of the windscreen, doesnt interfere at all with vision. Im sure l read somewhere that one install company placed the DAB aerial in the wing mirror housing and fed the wires through.

Looking at getting this unit or the 525

Just an FYI - this 8120 procedure fnc_eject works for the DNX7120 just fine.
Except the Garmin boot screen is still there. That is not bypassable. So just boot in music mode.
