My Mkv Gti doesnt come with an aux or usb in. I am think about fittin either or both preferably. So i can charge the phone and play music through other devices that dont have bluetooth. Im jus wonderin has anyone ever fitted these in the center armrest. I can charge through the cigarette lighter at the ash tray but i find it untidy wit wires around the gear stick. I like wires hidden and neat. So jus looking for advice of best way of doing it. Thanks in advance
And sorry if this topic has been put up before.

These dont fit mfd2 with a 6cd changer :(

would I be able to use this as an extension to my aux cable?
chop the cd changer head off and solder the wires to my current aux?
or is there a cable available for this? I've got an aftermarket head unit so I cant use this exact cable

I have fitted aux socket to armrest, it wires into the mid unit in the arm rest.
There is a guide on here somewhere.
It wouldn't be hard to wire a USB socket for charging too.

Thabjs for that but...
I've changed my mind as it seems like too much hassle, the main reason I wanted the arm rest ports is to avoid wires around the gear stick
then I realised that i can use the small holes on either side of the ashtray to keep wires out of my way, will only be 2 cables max
Do you know where the best place is to get those oem style sockets that sit in front of the gear stick? Decent quality but also price

Theres a member on here selling the USB socket:

No combintation will work with an MFD2. Only way around it is to use and XCarLink system.
