Title: V10 m5,m6 or 335i
Post by: Gaz7612 on January 21, 2016, 11:29:00 pm

 Hi all,

Bit of a strange one I know. I'm looking for a new car budget around £16000, I've had a E46 M3 in the past and loved it till someone drove in to the front of other!!
Love the V10 engine in both the M5 and M6 not to worried about the running/servicing costs only do around 500-600 miles a month. I've read up a lot on the horror story's, but that doesn't put me off to much.
The 335i coupe is very different to both of the above but for some reason I keep looking at those as well plus they aren't to expensive to get to 400bhp, I know that's over 100bhp less than both cars.

Always liked the M6. That V10 makes some lovely noises.

E60 M5 for me - after sitting in one tearing away up a country hill and still powering on, I loved it and wanted one. Would say sky blue would be my colour of choice.

P.S. your links to autotrader aren't fully correct and I can't navigate to them. They seem to contain a ... in the middle of the address.

I am swaying towards to safe bet of the 335i, I know these cars also have well documented problems but for the cost of a clutch replacement on a m5/6 it's the same price as hybrid turbos on a 335 (to cure the waste gate problem)

The V10 M5 will surely go down as one of the most bonkers cars in history.

It feels like an event every time you get in. That feeling is probably due to the character of the gearbox and engine. When it comes on song past 4000rpm, it makes you appreciate the engineering of that car. Don't run without a warranty, though, parts are eye wateringly expensive.

I've known two people who've had one, and both faced bills of £2-3k each in short ownership.
